My love for
visual art began more than ten years ago, but I spent several years away from
the canvas. In February 2012, I was drawn to develop and master palette knife
techniques through the Ottawa School of Art. I studied for a year under the
artist Hamid Ayoub. I instantly fell in love with acrylics and palette knife
techniques. Through this medium I am able to experiment with abstraction/expressionism
and colour harmonies. The textures, rich colours and movement in my art allow
me to express emotions and my interpretations of life. I am inspired by
Canadian artists such as Su Sheedy, Jean-Gabriel Lambert, and Niko (Nicole
Mathieu).
I recently took a 2 year hiatus from painting as I pursued my Master of Arts Degree, Art History. I continue to paint and create new works, and develop my knowledge of art.
